Why We Try explores what happens when people try to dare something new,
and how that single decision can become a life-defining turning point.

The series tells intimate and honest stories of human discovery, focusing on the emotional side of sport and movement. It captures real moments of doubt, motivation, struggle and growth, revealing how powerful it can be to simply take the first step. By highlighting authentic experiences, Why We Try brings the "try-it" attitude to life and makes it relatable and real.

The series reminds us that sport is not defined by medals, records or flawless technique. Instead, it is about the exact moment when motivation turns into action. Every personal transformation begins with a decision to try - driven by curiosity, courage or circumstance. Sometimes that decision is loud and intentional, sometimes quiet and almost unnoticed. Yet behind every change lies a defining moment that sets something new in motion. Why We Try tells the stories behind these moments and celebrates the human side of movement.

Once, her life followed a well-planned path toward a traditional career. Years of study had mapped out a clear direction.
But beneath the surface, something felt unfulfilled. The path made sense on paper – yet it didn’t feel right. Instead of continuing on autopilot, Josephine made a bold decision: she chose a different direction.
Her turning point wasn’t loud or dramatic. It began with a question: How do I get to where I really want to be? And what do I truly want?
In search of those answers, she focused on her well-being and turned inward. Through meditation, breathwork and mindful movement in the cold, she began reconnecting with herself – leaving the outside noise behind and fully arriving in the moment.
Today, Josephine guides others through that same experience. Her days begin in stillness, outdoors in the cold, with meditation, gentle yoga and conscious breathing. From there, the journey continues: stepping into ice water, walking through snow-covered landscapes, and embracing the silence of the mountains.
The cold stays cold. You feel it every time. But the focus shifts – away from freezing feet and toward staying present and healthy. It becomes an alignment of breath, body and mind.
What began as a personal search for clarity has evolved into a mission to help others find their own.

At a time when everything came to a standstill, Helen found herself isolated from family and friends. She felt empty and lonely , disconnected from the world around her. But in the stillness, she discovered one thing she could still do: run. Running became her constant, her structure and her release.

Step by step, day by day, she moved forward - never truly alone, always accompanied by her shadow. What started as a personal escape turned into something far greater. She began her journey with the simple idea of taking up running. Three years and 1,000 half marathons later, her feat was recognized with a Guinness World Record.
